Today marks the 43rd anniversary of the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash

Today marks the 43rd anniversary of the plane crash that killed three members of the Southern Rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Lead singer Ronnie VanZant, lead guitarist Steve Gains and his sister Cassie Gains a back up singer for the band were killed as a result of the crash on October 20th, 1977.


Charlie Daniels dies at age 83 of a stroke

Charlie Daniels famed front man for the Charlie Daniels Band died early Monday morning from a hemorrhagic stroke.  He is best known for the songs Long Haired Country Boy and The Devil Went Down to Georgia.  He was 83.
